Lumberland currently consists of several hamlets: Pond Eddy, Glen Spey, Mohican Lake, Black Forest, and Hillside. There are several children's camps in the area. New York State owns many acres dedicated to the preservation of the Bald Eagle and Eagle Watches are held for the benefit of all. These beautiful birds may be seen at all times of the year on the Swinging Bridge Reservoir, the Delaware River, and throughout the area, as they are nesting in spring, feed, and winter here. Several canoe liveries are situated along the Delaware River, for those who like to raft or canoe, and fishing, hiking, bicycling etc. are natural sports in the area.
