Homes for Sale in Stony Point
Stony Point is nestled between the Ramapo Mountains and the Hudson River. Known as the northernmost town of Rockland county, Stony Point has steep slopes with elevations from 600-1000 feet, river plains and rolling foothills. Rockhouse Mountain is the highest elevation stage in Stony Point measuring (1,283 feet). There is a streamlet called Cedar Pond Brook which over the years has created a deep gorge which seems to divide Stony Point into a northern and southern region.
The Stony Point hamlet has the greatest absorption of industrial and commercial uses within its town. Most of the residences are single family homes on customary lots. Some of the mountainous areas west of Thiells Road are an exception to this. New York City is approximately 37 to 45 miles south.
