  • The Village of Suffern is located at the southern border of Rockland County with a population of approximately 12,000.  Suffern is in a great location for commuters.  They have major rail and bus transportation within the town to all major surrounding towns and cities.  The travel into New Jersey is only a few minutes drive away.  The Manhattan skyline can be seen from atop Nordkop Mountain in Suffern.

     

    Suffern has a vast amount of history dating all the way back to 1781.  During the war, George Washington made camp in this village with his regiment.  John Suffern, who the town was eventually named after moved here from his hometown in Antrim, Ireland.
